We had a king deluxe with access to the Premier room for refreshments. We're vegan and so the food offering in the premier room wasn't really for us, but they have good beer and soda selections. Liquor based drinks are a bit strong so we always split them and added more mixer. Breakfast was ok for vegans, good for vegetarians and looked very good for omnivores. You can eat inside or pool side. The room was large and very comfortable. The shower was hot with good pressure. There is a hairdryer and mirrors outside of the bathroom (and mirrors inside the bathroom, of course) which makes it easier for 2 people to get ready at the same time. Our only complaint is that there was no water provided on the first night and the fridge wasn't stocked. Reception, bar, and door staff were all very friendly. Vegans might struggle to eat dinners here. In terms of location, there are many good restaurants as well as museums within waling distance and we felt safe walking to and from them. Overall, pleasantly surprised and would choose it again if we returned.

The managemennt of Barcelo Hotel is superior! They are most attentive to the needs of their guests. They excel at courtesy and follow through. In particular, I must give kudos and praise to Jefe de recepcio, Ms. Betzabe Alvarado. Ms. Alvarado works at the granular level with her guests and ensures that their need, desires, comfort are met in virtually all realms of a guests stay. She assures that the guest is number ONE! I cannot say enough about how unique and excetional the Barcelo Hotel is and much of that credit goes to the management of the hotel. Ms. Alvarado represents thi Hotel at the zenith of her professon. It is a luxury hotel: the room was quite large, as was the bed; the view was very nice; water pressure was more than adequate. And the price for a luxury hotel was under $100 a night, and included not only the large room, but breakfast (which was open for five and a half hours each morning), use of the spa (except massages, those were extra), two complimentary welcome cocktails, and two bottles of water per day. All located in an upscale neighborhood, which was very safe during the day and evening, all close to the major museums and -- if you're into that sort of thing -- shopping.

I loved everything about this hotel! The staff was helpful and friendly. My room was clean and I loved that there were plenty of hangers in the closet for my clothes. I booked a room with access to the executive lounge. I loved the privacy and quietness of the lounge as well as the opportunity to come and go during the day and evening. The neighborhood is safe and quiet - I didn't have problems walking around at night. There is a mall across the street, so there were plenty of eateries to choose from. I would definitely stay here again when I am in San Salvador!

The check in was easy and we were given a complimentary drink ticket for the sports bar "Strikers" in the hotel. Parking was a breeze, although it is pretty busy to get to the hotel itself. The hotel decor was quite dated but had a very classic/elegant feel to it. Everything with gleaming and clean. The pool, coffee shop, Churchill's cocktail bar and the sports bar were all lovely. I did not use the gym but peeked in and it looked clean and large with lots of weights/machines to use. Beds were very comfy!
